Hi, I'm Cait!

Right to be Relevant was a long time coming, but officially started in 2020 after observing myself and the people around me struggle to show up authentically.

In my early 20s I went to college, got a 9-5 job and did what I was “supposed” to do. Everything was fine. But I had a hunch that I could and should be more than fine. I was tired of activating different versions of myself - work Cait, family Cait, friends Cait. I found myself adapting to my environments and the many different expectations people had of me. I was damn good at it, but it was exhausting. I felt confined and limited. I wanted more, so I quit my job and committed to learning more about myself.

For the first time in my life, I started to give myself permission to figure out what authenticity looks like to me. I was no longer tied to the institutions that raised me, and I realized I had autonomy in my own life. Instead of conforming to my many roles, I started to introduce an authentic version of myself to my existing roles and found new roles that complimented the real me. I started being kinder to myself, an initiative I still work hard at every single day. I started understanding myself and the people in my life better and giving them the acceptance I may have been resisting before.  I started to try to find my common denominators, the parts of me that were consistent no matter where I was or who I was with.

The more I invested in myself and intentionally showed up for myself, the more I noticed how much the people around me were struggling to do so also. It fascinated me - watching how common it was for people to feel the same dissatisfaction, emptiness, burnout and heaviness I too felt. I was not willing to accept this as the norm. In wanting better for myself, I want better for the people around me and the next generation.

Right to be Relevant was born in 2020 with the intention of helping individuals recognize their own unique gifts and worth. Being through a time where I didn’t feel relevant myself, I know how life-changing it was to have someone believe in me so fiercely, until I was able to believe in myself. Les Brown said, “sometimes you need to believe in someone else’s belief in you, until your belief kicks in.”

I started Right to be Relevant so I can hold space for people to wake up and start treating themselves as the talented, worthy, relevant and deserving human beings they are. When I meet someone I see who they are through the façade, through the pain, through whatever it is they're trying to be. I see the real them at the core, even if they themselves haven’t met or understood the real them yet. Many people are waiting for permission to start being themselves and living their truth. I want to empower you to see that the only person you need permission from is yourself.

I dream of a world where each and every person is empowered to advocate for what they want and need in life. We all work in careers we truly love, create family and friend dynamics that fulfill us. We all understand our unique gifts and fearlessly share them with the world. We don’t turn to substances, other people, places or things to fill us up or give us identity. Each person knows they are worthy. Each person operates on an abundance of self-love, not scarcity. Each person knows they are enough.

I am shoulder to shoulder with you in this life-long effort to making myself relevant too. I am so grateful you're here.

Be kind to yourself,
Cait
